Moroccan international folkdance festival celebrates cultural diversity

Folk groups from all over the globe celebrated diversity in their culture at a festival of dance that took place in Morocco. 

Participants in the Moroccan 13th International Festival Entrerritmos for Folk Dance performed to emphasize how important it is to preserve their culture. 

The festival included folk dancing groups from eleven countries, comprising Iraq, Spain, Senegal, Paraguay, and the United Kingdom. 

Siddhesh Mestry of India has said that the interest in culture customs among youngsters has been declining. He also said that cultural events, like festivals youngsters to be more involved in the tradition. 

“So, these kind of events promote and encourage the youth to take part in such events and get to know about different countries,” He declared.

Maria Krastinkova, a participant from Bulgaria she said that dancers attending the festival could tell detailed tales about folklore using dancing. 

The festival is held in the coastal town of Larache each year since 2012 The festival is a celebration of the richness of culture. 

“Festivals such as this are crucial to get acquainted with new culture and people. We can also share with our fellows some insights of our own folklore groups,” said Slovakian Radovan Holub. 

Bulgarians Kaloyan Hristov and Maria Krastinkova said they had prepared for the past next year’s festival to be a part of. 

Krastinkova claimed that dances recount detailed tales of folklore and culture from various regions of their homeland.
