Health Services in Fez, Morocco inaugurate Cardiac Catheterization Center

On Tuesday, December 10, 2024, Minister of Health and Social Protection Amine Tehraoui made a working visit to Fez-Meknes region where he inaugurated Cardiac Catheterization Services of Al Ghassani Hospital located within Fez city limits.  

On his trip, Amine Tehraoui led, alongside Wali of Fez, Mouaad Jamai as Director General and various members of his Board, deliberations at an ordinary session of Hassan II University Hospital Center Board in Fez. 

This session of meetings focused on several strategic axes, including an assessment of Hassan II University Hospital Center of Fez achievements; validation of minutes from its meeting held July 13, 2023; presentation and accounting for activities/administration for 2023 as well as analysis of results related to implementation decisions from this period; as well as general administration matters such as finances/adminstrative accounts/etc for 2023-2024 and subsequent years. 

At this meeting, hospital center representatives presented budget execution results for 2024 as well as their action plans and draft budget for 2025. Furthermore, various cooperation agreements signed by hospital center were accepted; showing their continued dedication in strategic partnerships. 

At this same event, Minister Al Ghassani announced the opening of an advanced biomedical technology cardiac catheterization center located within Al Ghassani regional hospital center in Fez. This essential center forms part of the rehabilitation of health infrastructure across the Kingdom in line with High Royal Instructions regarding reform and modernization of national healthcare system as well as enhanced provision of specialized care to support implementation of generalized social protection and universal health coverage project.   

This groundbreaking facility, the first of its kind among regional hospitals, aims to consolidate specialized care provision throughout Fez-Meknes region hospitals – specifically at Al Ghassani Regional Hospital Center – while increasing patient outcomes of cardiovascular pathologies that necessitate emergency interventions like cardiac catheterizations under an elite, highly qualified, specialized medical and nursing team dedicated solely to this specialty with access to cutting edge standards and technologies in this field.
