2025 Club World Cup: Big Challenges Ahead for Wydad Casablanca the only ambassador of Moroccan football
Wydad Casablanca, one of the four African clubs participating at the 2025 Club World Cup set to begin on the United States from June 15 until July 13 is being placed in Pot 3 based on its position in the 2024 global league rankings. The establishment of pots isn’t yet officially recognized, since FIFA hasn’t yet revealed the procedure for drawing but it is generally believed that national representatives soccer are inside the pot 3.
The Reds might face tough opponents like Brahim Diaz’s Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester City, and even Brazilian club Flamengo. However, Wydad, under the supervision under the direction of Rulani Mokwena will have surpass expectations in order to be able to honour Morocco’s inclusion in the first 32-team World Cup.
In this phase’s final stages, WAC will be joined by three other African clubs participating in the expanded competition. Al Ahly of Cairo, Esperance de Tunis, and the Mamelodi Sundowns
As per our sources, the club’s President Hicham Ait Menna along with Nouredine Narybet, club legend are expected to take on the role of representing the metropolitan club at the draw ceremony set for 5 December at Miami, Florida (19:00 GMT+1).
Wydad was able to qualify for the brand new model for the Club World Cup by winning the 2021-2022 Champions League at the expense of Al Ahly.
